Well with Windows Phone 7 now officially launched in most countries it's time to let the cat out of the bag and let you know that yes... AuthAnvil SoftTokens are available for Windows Phone 7.
The AuthAnvil SoftToken will be generally available for download for FREE to your device when Microsoft finally makes it possible for us to submit the app to the marketplace. They have had some challenges during release, but we are told they should have it worked out soon.
For those that don't know, AuthAnvil SoftTokens transform your smartphone into a two-factor authentication device capable of generating unique one time passwords (OTP).
This provides identity assurance protection when you need to log into protected resources such as Windows servers and workstations through Terminal Services and DirectAccess. It also provides credentials for VPNs, WLANs and web applications like Remote Web Workplace, Outlook Web Access and SharePoint. Even when your phone is in “airport mode”.
Prerequisites: To use this application, your company must have an AuthAnvil subscription and have purchased AuthAnvil SoftToken keys. Once installed, an administrator can allow you to activate your device as a valid AuthAnvil SoftToken, generating the dynamic one time passwords required to let you log into these resources.
So, if you find yourself with a cool new phone running Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 and connect up to AuthAnvil protected resources when teleworking like through your company's VPN, DirectAccess or Citrix environments... we've got you covered.
